Eligibility Requirements

The Continuing Education Scholarship is open to Central Indiana (Indianapolis) single parents who are currently enrolled in an accredited college, university or trade school.

Applicant must be a single parent who has dependent children, under the age of 18, residing in the same household.

Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 grading scale. If graded on a Pass/Fail grading scale, applicant must have a "Pass" status for all classes completed.

Scholarship awards will be paid directly to the educational institution attended by the scholarship recipient. The balance due on the recipient’s account must be equal to or greater than the amount of the scholarship awarded.

All applicants must submit their response to the question, "In 200 words or less, please tell us about yourself, your career goals, and why you deserve to win this scholarship". All responses must be submitted using the form below.

Entry forms will be accepted beginning Monday, 4/3/23. All submissions must be received no later than Sunday, 7/9/23 at 11:59 PM EST. Submissions received outside of the application period and duplicate entries will not be considered.

3 Semifinalists will be selected by Wednesday, 7/12/23, and proof of eligibility must be received no later than Wednesday, 8/2/23

The winner will be announced by Wednesday, 8/9/23 via the Single Parent Connection Inc. Facebook and Instagram pages. The winner will also be notified via email.
Scholarship Winners Must Submit:

Proof of Single Parent Status - Copy of Page 1 of the Individual Income Tax Return form filed in 2021 or 2022 showing “Single” or “Head of Household” filing status and listed dependents (be sure to obscure social security numbers).

Proof of Residency - Copy of a valid Indiana Driver's License or State ID must be submitted

Proof of Program Enrollment - An Enrollment Verification Letter and School transcript must be submitted. The verification letter must be on school letterhead and can be obtained from your school’s Registration or Student Accounts office.

Proof of Financial Need - A copy of the school accounting statement, dated within 30 days of the request date, must be submitted. The student must have a remaining balance due that is equal to or greater than the scholarship award amount.

All documentation and information received will be kept confidential and used for the sole purpose of verifying eligibility.
